She decided to change her baking business Maddie Bakes to a non-profit benefiting childhood cancer research because she wanted to do something worthwhile for this cause. Her friend was diagnosed with leukemia and thankfully she is now in remission and thriving! Her experience impacted Maddie tremendously with the realization that this devastating disease can happen to anyone, even if they seem perfectly healthy. She has a passion for baking, and a future goal of becoming a doctor, so she wants to use this talent to support research for a cure. That is why Maddie Bakes For a Cure was created.
