Team Primal Courage

Team Primal Courage is the charitable fundraising team for Primal Wear and Audi Denver. Primal are proud partners, sponsor, and providers of cycling apparel to the Courage Classic, joined by our friends at Audi Denver. We ride to improve the lives of the children in our local community and beyond by raising money for this great cause! Benefiting Colorado Children's Hospital, which is one of the nation's leading hospitals in acute pediatric care, we ride to support the hospital and help change lives through the lifesaving medical care Colorado Children’s provides these kids and the support network they provide their families.

Families and kids like Olivia Levaque and Teresa "Reese" Abols

Olivia Levaque is the daughter of former artist at Primal Megan Levaque. Olivia became part of the Children's Hospital Colorado family at justy four days old because of severe jaundice. After many tests, a biopsy and failed Kasai surgery at 8 weeks old, they discovered she had a very rare liver disease called Biliary Agenesis in which there are no bile ducts inside or outside of the liver. A liver transplant was her only option, or she would not live to see her first birthday. Olivia was placed on the transplant list at 7 months old, and just nine days later she received the gift of life! Since her transplant, Olivia has thrived. Her parents are forever thankful for the kindness, knowledge and compassion of Olivia’s doctors, surgeons and the Liver Team as a whole. She is also a 2019 Children's Hospital Patient Ambassador!

Reese Abols, born April 2016 to a former employee and friend of Primal Andy Abols. Reese has Spina Bifida, born with this disorder that found her spinal cord exposed causing symptoms like paralysis. Through the intervention of the amazing doctors, nurses, and staff at Colorado Children's Hospital, Reese's life was saved, and ongoing treatments and care have allowed her to thrive. IN FACT: In speaking with Andy and Gina, Reese stood up for the first time on her own at this time last year! She has improved strength thanks in part to a decompression surgery she had in 2017 again at Children's. Thankfully Reece continues to thrive and we continue to raise money for more like her so that they can too!

Just on our small team countless lives are bettered by the special lifesaving services only available at Colorado Children’s Hospital. So we’d ask that you consider Riding With Us or if you can’t ride please consider donating to our team (or your favorite team rider) to help us support more stories like these brave girls that happen every day!

Thanks
