As many of you know, less than a year ago I was diagnosed with stage-1 lung cancer. My recovery is complete and it’s now time to give back. I am riding to give hope to Children’s Hospital Colorado patients like Piper. While I don’t know Piper or her family, I found it ironic that this story was the default story for my fundraising page.
Piper was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma – a form of cancer that was growing as a soft tumor in her spine. Today, after many rounds of chemotherapy and radiation at Children’s Hospital Colorado, the creative, big-hearted elementary schooler is cancer free. Piper's family says they made it through a lot of tough days with help and support from every area of the hospital.
The Courage Classic is an opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for kids like Piper. I ask for your fundraising support as I take on this challenge in the mountains of Colorado.
