I ride to give hope to Children’s Hospital Colorado patients like Ingrid.
Ingrid was born with complex congenital heart disease and has had 2 heart surgeries, both performed before her 1st birthday. Ingrid will need additional heart surgery in the future, but it is difficult to predict when that might be necessary. As a result of her congenital heart disease, Ingrid has decreased heart function and takes medicines daily to help protect her heart.
Ingrid’s heart has not slowed her down and she has been able to attend school, play sports, and get a job like a normal teenager. She graduated this spring ranked 3rd in her class and will be attending CSU in the fall.
While Ingrid will always need to see a cardiologist, she has a very positive attitude and is living her best life. We are very, very proud of her and I consider Ingrid to be an outstanding role model for children and young adults living with congenital heart disease.
The Courage Classic is an opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for children like Ingrid who are on their way to entering adulthood.
