I am excited to ride in the Courage Classic to help support Children's Hospital Colorado.
Children's Hospital Colorado is not only where my wife Erin works as a pediatric emergency medicine fellow (spending many long hours in the Children's ER) but also where my sister-in-law Caitlin works as a Child Life Specialist. Erin and I are lucky to have a healthy and happy son Rian though we have needed to visit Children's a few times, including when Rian dealt with a bout of RSV in December 2022. He is all better thanks to the care he received but it was certainly a scary time. Caitlin even was able to visit him in the ER to brighten his stay.
Caitlin and her fiance Ben also are intimately involved in Burn Camp, which is supported by donations and Children's Hospital Colorado. My Courage Classic team, S'more Courage, is made up of cyclists who are united in their support of Burn Camp.
Since its inception in 1983, Burn Camp programming has strived to meet the specific needs of children who have sustained burn injuries by providing a residential camp program with world-class medical care from professional camp staff, dedicated staff from referring burn units, and community service partners. Burn Camp is celebrating 40 years this summer and is more important for campers than ever. These young burn survivors need programming and peer interaction to support their growth and development and connect with the great outdoors.
Every gift you give and every mile conquered at the Courage Classic Bicycle Tour makes a difference for Children's Hospital Colorado patients and families. Since 1990, incredible riders and supporters have raised more than $56 million all for kids. Support this year's goal of $3.5 million with your gift today. Your generosity ensures access to world-class pediatric expertise for every family who needs us.
Your support means so much to me and the parents and families at Children's Hospital Colorado.
