I ride for kids like my sister, Alex. This will be my second year riding in the Courage Classic to help kids like Alex.
My sister was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in 2019. I missed my sister when she was in the hospital for over a month. I was in kindergarten when she was diagnosed, so I didn't really understand what cancer is and why it is so scary. One day, I talked to a my parents in the hospital about how sick she was. I also talked to a Child Life specialist, Andrea, about Alex's diagnosis. She showed me pictures of the machines that were helping keep her alive. I felt less scared after talking to my parents and Andrea. Cancer is still a little confusing to me. I just don't know why kids get it. It doesn't seem fair.
I am part of the riding team "Wheels of Justice". We are raising money for the Children's Hospital Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. The kind-hearted people that work in this center are a great group of doctors, nurses, child life specialists and other staff that are helping my sister beat cancer.
In two years I have raised
$2,429.07!!!
I want to raise $5,000 total this year!
I want to ride to help raise money so Children's Hospital can keep helping kids like my sister, Alex!
