When Henry was born my labor was very long. The most wonderful nurse, Jenna, spent multiple days with me and Andrew: making us laugh, keeping us calm, and of course, making sure Henry and I were both safe! She was, and is, simply the best. I couldn't have gotten through multiple days of labor without her, and I'm so grateful to say she and her husband Joe are now our amazing friends!
Fast forward a year and a half later, Jenna and Joe had their own baby boy. Their son Caleb was born with undiagnosed Congenital Heart Disease. At ten days old, Caleb had a surgery that saved his life, and will eventually need another surgery. I remember all too clearly the heartbreaking and scary text updates Jenna sent me as she and Joe navigated their initial days as parents. Thankfully Caleb's team of doctors at Children's Hospital Colorado took such amazing care of him. Caleb is almost a year old now, cute as a button and Henry can't wait to teach his friend all there is to know about being a toddler!
Andrew and I (AND Henry - thanks Burley Cart) are excited to bike with Jenna, Joe and Caleb in Children's Hospital Colorado Courage Classic in honor of Caleb and kids like him! We are so grateful for any donation amount - no donation is too small! Thank you! Thank you!
