I'm thrilled to ride the Courage Classic to support the kids that come to Children's Hospital Colorado seeking health care. Courage Classic is a massive event that takes place in the beautiful mountains of Colorado and that fundraise to support the mission of Children’s Hospital Colorado of improving the health of children through the provision of high-quality, coordinated programs of patient care, education, research, and advocacy.
I am especially glad to join the PICU peloton team. I have been assigned to help the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for the last 8 months and it is a privilege to see firsthand all of the things, that seem impossible, but our providers, physicians, intensivists, nurses, respiratory therapists, physical/occupational and speech therapists, ECMO and Dialysis specialized nurses, child life specialists, chaplains, social workers, and staff DO to heal the children and take them out of the woods.
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit cares for critically ill children that come from all over the region and other countries. During my time as a Medical Interpreter covering the PICU, I have been able to help reduce the language barrier to many Spanish speaking families, and I'm in awe of the extraordinary work that this team does to provide the best possible care to ALL patients and families. These kids will not be the last to face a life-threatening illness and their families will not be the last to navigate a frightening diagnosis.
Please join us to support healthier futures for kids. Every donation counts and it is very much appreciated.
