I ride to give hope to Children's Hospital Colorado patients suffering from childhood cancers. May 9th, marks the 6th anniversary of my son Cooper's death from a childhood cancer that has no cure. This year, Wheels of Justice, is dedicating their ride to Cooper. Team "Climb for Coop" rides under the Wheels umbrella.Since it's inception, Wheels of Justice has raised over 5 million dollars for the groundbreaking research being done at Children's Hospital in Denver.
There is still no cure for the particular type of tumor that took Cooper's life three weeks before his 13th birthday. It is still the only childhood cancer that has no known treatment. That being said, there has been progress made towards a treatment and hopefully soon, the DIPG tumor will no longer be a death sentence for the children whose brains it invades.
Please help me raise money to further the extensive research being done at Children's Hospital Denver. I was shocked when I found out after Cooper had been diagnosed, that of all the money raised in our country for cancer research which runs into the billions each year, only 4% of those donations goes to childhood cancer research.
The money raised each year by the Courage Classic, goes straight into research to cure childhood cancers. I appreciate any help you can give to this cause, be it $5,$10, $20, or whatever you are comfortable with and can afford.
Thank you all.
