I ride to give hope to Children's Hospital Colorado patients like Eliot.
Last year, Eliot was born with a rare form of hypoplastic left heart syndrome with a large coronary-cameral fistula. In the last year, he underwent 5 heart surgeries, the fifth being an orthotopic heart transplant. He is now growing, and spending time with his parents and siblings. Eliot loves to laugh and roll from one end of the room to the other. He misses his brothers when they leave the room. His favorite person is his dad. He inspires his family and friends to not only believe in miracles but to also cherish each second we get in life and with loved ones.
Eliot will not be the last child to face a life-threatening heart defect and his family will not be the last to navigate a frightening diagnosis.
The Courage Classic is not only a personal challenge, but also an opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for children.
