Registration and fundraising for the 2024 Courage Classic has begun. My goal is to bring in as many donations to Children's Hospital Colorado as I can. As for the ride, instead of 78 miles in one day, I plan on doing 60 miles at Copper mountain on the first day and then 40 miles at Dillon Reservoir on the following day. This will be 22 more miles than my first 5 Courage Classics but over 2 days. It is sort of a concession to my motto, "older and slower". Regardless, the ride is really for the fundraising. Children's Hospital Colorado is an unbelievably worthy cause.
The team I ride with changed it's name. My daughter, Samantha, has been working on the infectious disease floor at Children's for a couple of years now and her colleagues named the team Docs-a-Cyclin': Infectious Disease/Epidemiology Team. If our team can raise $50,000 the money will go to the Endowed Fund for Infectious Disease where gifts will be invested in perpetuity. The investment income will support efforts within pediatric infectious disease and epidemiology at Children’s Hospital Colorado. If we do not reach that $50,000 threshold, our fundraising will support unrestricted funding for Children's Colorado's greatest needs through the hospital foundation, but not necessarily to Infectious Disease.
The Courage Classic is a personal challenge, but also an opportunity to support Children’s Hospital Colorado. Please consider making a donation.
