I’m riding in the Courage Classic for every pediatric cancer patient I’ve had the privilege to care for—kids who are not only fighting cancer, but also enduring the pain and complications that come with treatment, including complex wounds. As a wound care nurse, I walk alongside these brave young patients and their families, helping to ease their pain, promote healing, and restore comfort and dignity during an incredibly difficult time.
Cancer doesn’t just affect a child’s body—it impacts their entire world. It changes childhood. It challenges families emotionally, physically, and financially. Yet, through it all, I’ve witnessed unimaginable strength, resilience, and hope.
My passion for this work runs deep. These kids deserve not only the best medical care, but also the kind of compassionate support that lifts them up through the darkest moments. Riding in the Courage Classic is my way of honoring their courage and helping raise the funds needed to continue supporting the extraordinary care provided at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
