It's time again for Courage Classic! I'm very excited for the opportunity to ride this year, even though I haven't been training. This year it's only one day but a very important one.
Children's Hospital and the kids in our community need our help more than ever! Children's recently declared a state of emergency for pediatric mental health and suicide. According to their website, suicide is the leading cause of death for kids ages 10+ right in Colorado. Someone recently told me the waitlist for a psychologist through Children's is one year long right now. This is all absolutely devastating and has been weighing heavy on my heart. Covid has been tough on everyone.
Every year I like to set an intention for my ride to get me through, especially Vail Pass, to the end. So this year I’m going to ride for any kid struggling in hopes they can get access to care and know they are not alone. I'm setting a goal of $1,500 this year to beat my pre-covid amount raised of almost $1,100. If you have the means to donate, no pressure, see the link below to my personal fundraising page. Words of encouragement mean just as much to me too!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone for your support and encouragement, you all will definitely get me through the Copper Triangle!
