After a small snafu (Covid 19 Pandemic), we’re BACK in the saddle and ready to ride. This year I’ll be participating in my 4th Courage Classic with the Cardiac Climbers. We will be riding over 120 miles in the Rocky Mountains to raise money for the Heart Institute at Children’s Hospital Colorado. This ride will undoubtably be a personal challenge, but more importantly a means to support the outcomes and lives of the kids that I have the opportunity to work with every day.
Our team is special because each rider dedicates their ride to a Heart Hero who has been affected by congenital heart disease. This year I’m riding for my personal Heart Hero - my dad. He was born with Tetralogy of Fallot and is one of the earliest successful Tetralogy of Fallot repairs. Throughout his life, he has undergone four open heart surgeries and numerous other procedures. My dad is my inspiration for becoming a pediatric cardiac nurse and more importantly an encouraging example of a fulfilling life with congenital heart disease for our ‘littler' Heart Heroes.
By donating to my ride you will not only be supporting the wellness of children in the heart institute, but also funding research through ACHA to continue to improve the lifelong care of these children into adulthood, just like my dad.
