Dear Friends and Family,
It's that time again! While we were rained out in much of June, it will be a fast and furious catch up in July to get ready for 2 days of glorious mountain cycling! My last training ride took me to the top of the mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park, only to be held at the summit while a helicopter evac occurred to fly a critically ill person off the hill. It reminded me of the signs of the chopper landing at Children's - the smell of the fumes in the OR signals that a child has been brought in and will receive the best care available in a 7-state region. Those are the times we mentally prepare for what might be arrving in our OR's, and feel proud to come together as a team for the children we serve.
My riding may not be the definition of inspiring as training has been a bit behind schedule this year, but I plan to attempt the 80 mile Copper Triangle one more time. Legs and lungs don't fail me now!
Thanks to all for your continued support of my ride, the Dream Team and our quest to deliver world class anesthesia care!
Be well and stay safe!
Deb
