2 days, 125 miles, and more than 8000' of climbing through the Rocky Mountains make the Courage Classic one of the best bike rides Colorado has to offer. Still, this comes nowhere close to the struggle that pediatric cancer patients go through during their treatment.
I ride to support the Children's Hospital Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD). I am especially inspired by one big element that is provided through courage classic fundraising: mental health support for patients and their families. During my own treatment as a cancer patient, the physical treatment was easier than the mental one. Kids going through cancer have a unique relationship with their own mortality, and have to sit back and watch the world continue on around them. I am thankful that the CCBD is able to provide additional support for children going through their cancer treatment.
Riding a bike through the rocky mountains is hard. Going through cancer treatment as a kid is way harder. But what's easy is helping me support kids through a generous donation in suoport of my courage classic ride. Thank you!
