It has been almost 14 years since I moved to Colorado and started working at Children's Hospital Colorado, where I work as a developmental psychologist to serve children and families with neurodiversity. I'm incredibly grateful for this career and opportunity to serve our local community, and I can't imagine working or living anywhere else.
This will be my 5th year participating in the Courage Classic, a fun yet challenging, bike ride through the winding mountain roads of Colorado's high country, focused on raising money and support for children and families with medical or developmental needs served by Children's Hospital Colorado. I've again joined the Arc Thrift Braniacs (previously Jelly Belly for Kids and Arc Thrift Classics) that supports the Neuroscience Institute at Children's Hospital Colorado by raising money and awareness for children and families with neurodiversity, including those with neurological or developmental disorders, like Autism Spectrum Disorder or Intellectual Disability. As there is a clear increase in the incidence of these conditions, it becomes more and more important for our community to work together towards fostering supportive and welcoming communities for this growing population and for celebrating neurodiversity.
Please join me in helping to celebrate and create a better world for neurodiverse individuals. I have set a personal goal of raising $1000, but hope I can double that.
