As a Founder of the Courage Classic, this is my 33rd tour! When I started this ride 33 years ago I never dreamed I would still be doing this when I was 64! But here I am, doing it again and I am proude to say that this event has become one of the the largest fund raisers for Childrens Hospital raising close to $100M over the last 33 years!
I am supporting the Courage Classic for patients like my nephew Elija Mancillas and my cousin Noah Martinez
Elija was diagnosed with a rare childrens cancer and his prognosis was not good as there were very few children who had this rare form of cancer. Thanks to the support he received from his family, the Make a Wish Foundation, Elija's positive attitude and, most of all, the care he received at Children’s Hospital Colorado, he is currently in remission and excited to attend high school.
Noah was also diagnosed with a rare cancer behind his nose. He has been treated at Childrens for his condition for 4-5 years and he recently learned that the tumor has shrunk drastically thanx to the treatments he has received at Childrens Hospital and he is excited about attending college.
Elija and Noah will not be the last children to face a life-threatening illness and their families will not be the last to navigate a frightening diagnosis. Wth the help of Children's Hospital Colorado, both of my family members are thriving and healthy and their families are forever grateful. It is work like this that heppens every day at Chldrens Hospital and is why I continue to ride.
The Courage Classic is not only a personal challenge, but also an opportunity to support positive outcomes for kids and families like Elija and Noah who rely on Children's Colorado for care. While riding for 33 straight years straight is a challenge, it is not even close to the challenges that the kids, parents and clinicians face every day at Children's Hospital.
Thank you for coming to my page and considering a donation! All of the money earned goes directly to a cause or initiative at Childrens Hospital, which is typically cancer related. Here is a wonderful video about Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders, created by Children's Hospital Colorado:

We are so grateful and blessed to be able to still do this and thank you in advance for considering a donation:
