This year I am riding for Connor, a patient at the Heart Institute.
Connor was born with Double Outlet Right Ventricle, and underwent 3 heart surgeries before he turned one years old. He and his family moved from the East Coast to Colorado in 2016. Shortly after moving, his native heart started to fail and he was listed for heart transplant in January of 2017. I first met Connor and his family while I was working with the Heart Transplant team at Children's. Connor received his heart transplant on July 21, 2017 and continues to be followed by the Heart Institute.
Fun fact - Connor got his new heart over a Courage Classic Weekend!
Money raised from the Courage Classic by Cardiac Climbers goes directly to the Heart Institute. Donations provide funding for cardiology education, toys to help Child Life Specialists support kids going through heart surgeries and other needs of the Heart Institute.
Help me help these special kids!
