I am honored to team up with Brooke Burke to walk and scooter in the two-mile Courage Classic Cruise next weekend. We will be honoring Brooke's younger sister and my granddaughter, Caroline Catherine Burke who passed away this April at 15 months of age.
Caroline's diagnosis was labeled ultra rare and the many specialists at Children's (the best in the country) gave us as much information as they could. They were lifesavers in helping Ben and Annie navigate the issues that Caroline presented. More importantly, they were sounding boards. They let a frustrated and angry grandmother ask question after question while patiently explaining that there were no answers.....yet. This is why we ride!
