This year, I’m taking on a cycling challenge with a purpose far greater than the miles I’ll ride. I’m raising funds for Children’s Hospital Colorado to support youth mental health programs that provide hope, healing, and lifesaving care for children and families in our community.
I'm a piano teacher, and every day I have the privilege of witnessing the remarkable strength, vulnerability, and potential of young people. That's why this ride is about so much more than cycling.
Every week, I sit beside students as they discover what they're capable of. While we certainly learn scales, technique, and repertoire, some of the most meaningful moments happen between the notes. I've watched students find confidence after believing they weren't enough, work through frustration with resilience, express emotions they couldn't put into words, and experience the joy that comes from being truly seen and encouraged.
Those moments have taught me that teaching music is also mental health work.
As a piano teacher, my purpose extends beyond developing musicians. It's about nurturing the whole child—creating a space where students feel safe to grow, take risks, build confidence, and find their own voice. Music has an extraordinary ability to heal, connect, and inspire, but I also know that many children need additional mental health support beyond what teachers and families can provide.
That's why I'm riding to raise funds for Children's Hospital Colorado and its youth mental health programs. Every child deserves access to compassionate care, hope, and the resources they need to thrive.
Every mile I pedal represents a child who deserves to be heard. Every donation helps provide lifesaving mental health services for children and families in our community.
Thank you for supporting this journey. Together, we can invest in the well-being of the next generation—one mile, one child, and one act of generosity at a time.
