In a few weeks, I will be riding the Courage Classic to raise funds for Children's Hospital Colorado, a cause that is deeply personal to our family. Both of our daughters have PKU, a rare lifelong metabolic disorder that requires ongoing medical care, monitoring, and support. From the day our first daughter was diagnosed, and later when we learned our second daughter also had PKU, the doctors, nurses, dietitians, and staff at Children's Hospital have been by our side every step of the way. Their expertise, compassion, and dedication have helped our family navigate the challenges of raising two children with a rare medical condition.
There is another reason this ride means so much to me. Our daughters' godmother, Dori Biester, devoted many years of her life to Children's Hospital Colorado, serving as its President and CEO and helping shape it into the extraordinary institution it is today. She also poured her heart into the Courage Classic, riding it year after year, raising an incredible amount of money for the hospital, and inspiring countless others to do the same. Her passion and commitment inspired both my husband and my father-in-law to participate in the Courage Classic for many years, and I have always admired the impact she made on so many children and families.
This year, I have the privilege of carrying that torch forward. To do my small part, I'll be riding the longest routes offered on both days of the Courage Classic—a total of 143 miles and more than 11,200 feet of climbing over Fremont, Tennessee, Vail, and Loveland Passes. It will be one of the most physically demanding rides I've ever completed, but it's a challenge I'm honored to take on in support of Children's Hospital Colorado and the families they serve. I hope that one day our own daughters will ride the Courage Classic as well, continuing this tradition of giving back to the hospital that has cared for them throughout their lives.

The miles and climbs will be challenging, but they are small compared to the challenges many children and families face every day. I truly believe that investing in children's health and well-being is one of the most meaningful ways we can strengthen our future.
If you are able, please consider making a donation to support Children's Hospital Colorado and the incredible work they do for children and families like ours. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps ensure that children receive the exceptional care they deserve. Thank you for your generosity, encouragement, and support—it truly means the world to our family.
