I am riding the Courage Classic (an 80 mile route through the Colorado Rockies) for kids like Emmeline!
Emmeline was born with pulmonary valve stenosis and at 1 week old received a life saving procedure to open the valve. She responded well to the procedure and was doing well but at 4 months needed another procedure as the valve was narrowing again. After the second procedure she responded very well and has continued to improve and grow. Today at just over 1 year old she is an energetic, happy, and curious girl.
Emmeline is one of the incredible patients Kavin (my husband) has had the privilege of caring for. Watching children like her grow from fragile newborns into happy, thriving toddlers is a powerful reminder of why we're riding in the Courage Classic.
