I am currently a cardiac sonographer at Children’s Hospital Colorado and a congenital heart disease patient.
I was diagnosed with an anomalous right coronary artery, at age 16. I am a big athlete and was experiencing chest pain while exercising along with fainting. Not going through with surgery meant living with a risk of heart attack/ sudden cardiac arrest when raising my heart rate. I didn’t want to be limited in participating in activities that I enjoy doing such as playing soccer and running. I underwent repair of the intramural right coronary artery by Dr. Jagger’s at age 17 years old to be able to continue to live an active lifestyle. I have been living my best active lifestyle continuing to play soccer in an adult league, running Half Marathon’s, hiking 14ers in Colorado and so much more! I was also inspired by my wonderful cardiac team who have made a difference in my life to become a cardiac sonographer and am now a part of the cardiac team here at Children’s Colorado.
I am riding in the Courage Classic this year to help support and raise money for kids with congenital heart disease.
Thank you for your support!
