Cooper’s fight began just a few days after birth and has continued throughout his first 6 months of life. He was born with a condition called Truncus Arteriosus along with interrupted aortic arch, which is a rare congenital heart defect that required an open-heart surgery at only 3 weeks old. He spent the first 4 months of his life in the hospital undergoing numerous procedures to help correct some of the complications that come along with his condition. He has had to have several chest tubes placed, a surgical ligation of his right subclavian artery and several unexpected stays in the hospital. Unfortunately, he will be required to undergo multiple procedures and another open heart surgery but will continue to tenaciously fight like the warrior he is.
