As a nurse on a pediatric hematology/oncology floor, I see firsthand what these kids go through, the long hospital stays, the strength it takes to keep fighting, and the way their families show up for them every single day. The care they receive goes far beyond medicine. It’s research, emotional support, family resources, and moments of normalcy in the middle of something incredibly hard.
I’m riding for my patients; the ones I’ve cared for, the ones still fighting, and the ones we carry with us. Every mile is for them.
This job has been a dream, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to care for such amazing patients. Over the past 7 months, I've had the privilege of caring for patients as young as 35 days and as old as 35 years. Every one of them has taught me something meaningful and has left a lasting impact on my life.
I hope that one day I can be even a fraction as strong, resilient, and courageous as the patients I've been honored to care for. When I'm training for something and doing a hard workout, I often think about my patients and remind myself that it is a privilege to choose to suffer.
These kids and families fight so hard. I could go on and on about how incredible they all are and how much they deserve the world. If you are able to support, thank you so much! No donation is too small
