Caroline Catherine Burke is the late daughter of Headwaters Group managing partner Ben Burke and his wife Annie. Shortly after birth in January 2025, Caroline spent nearly two months in the NICU at Children’s Hospital Colorado under the care of an incredible team of doctors, nurses, and specialists. There, Caroline was diagnosed with an ultra-rare, progressive metabolic disorder that currently has fewer than 100 cases ever reported worldwide and no cure. Despite Caroline’s poor prognosis and the initial devastation of this news, the ongoing support from CHCO specialists enabled Caroline’s family to bring her home, introduce her to their community, and shower her with immense love and comfort for fifteen months. Caroline passed away on April 11, 2026 and is missed beyond belief every single day. Without the amazing resources at Children’s Hospital Colorado, Caroline’s family would not have been blessed with over a year’s worth of memories together that will be forever cherished.
