Hi everyone,
I’ve been at Children’s Hospital Colorado for almost seven years now, which officially makes this my longest job ever. I genuinely love working here and everything this place stands for. I can honestly say I’ve never worked for a better organization.
Courage Classic is our top fundraising event of the year. I'm always talking about it with potential candidates. So this year, I’ve decided to stop just talking about the Courage Classic Bike Ride… and actually do it. Bold move, I know.
Now, some of you might be thinking, “LeAnn’s always outside doing something active, this will be easy for her.” Let me go ahead and stop you right there. This will NOT be easy for me.
Last year I did one bike event—41 miles for Tour of the Moon in Grand Junction—and by the end, I was questioning all my life choices and inventing new curse words. This year? I signed up for the 48-mile Courage Classic route. Because apparently, I don’t learn.
But here’s the thing: the kids at Children’s don’t get to opt out of their challenges. They face fear, pain, and the unknown every single day, and they do it with a level of bravery that’s honestly unbelievable. So if they can be that strong, the least I can do is ride my bike up some hills.
If you’d like to support an incredible cause (and my slightly questionable decision-making), I’d be so grateful for a donation. Every bit helps support these amazing kids.
Thanks for cheering me on, and if you see me on a bike looking miserable, just know… I chose this.
