This July, I’ll be riding in the Courage Classic—a two-day ride through the Colorado Rockies covering 80 miles on day one and 63 miles on day two—to raise money for Children’s Hospital Colorado.
As a member of the Wheels of Justice team, every dollar I raise will directly support the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD), where I’ve had the privilege of caring for children and families facing cancer and blood disorders for the past year and a half.
Every shift, I meet some of the strongest people I will ever know. I care for children whose lives have been turned upside down by a cancer diagnosis, yet somehow they continue to laugh, play, and find joy in the hardest moments. I think about the kids who celebrate ringing the bell at the end of treatment, the kids enduring painful side effects and long hospital stays, the kids who can’t swallow because of severe mouth sores from chemotherapy, and the kids who face each day with a courage that inspires everyone around them.
These patients and families teach me about resilience, hope, and what truly matters in life. They are the reason I’m riding.
I’m fundraising to help advance research, discover new cures, and improve treatments so children can experience fewer side effects and better outcomes. Every donation, no matter the size, helps support the incredible work being done at Children’s Hospital Colorado and gives hope to families navigating the unimaginable.
Thank you for supporting this cause that means so much to me. I’ll be carrying the strength and courage of my patients with me every mile of the ride.
