The Courage Classic is an 80 mile bike ride in the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains fundraising for Childrens Hospital Colorado. As part of the Wheels of Justice team, the money I raise will specifically go to the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD). I have worked at the CCBD for the past 2.5 years taking care of kids and families whose lives have been drastically changed by a cancer diagnosis.
I am fundraising so we can find more cures and to continue to improve treatment so patients experience less side effects.
I ride for the patients I take care of every day and night. The patients who still giggle and love to play and be a kid despite the hardship they are asked to endure, for the kids who have such bad mouth sores from chemo that they can’t swallow, for the kids who ring the bell, for the kids in severe pain, for the kids who teach me more about life and living than anyone else could, for all the kids: they are stronger and braver than us all.
