Welcome to my Courage Classic page! This is my second year participating in the Courage Classic, and I could not be more excited. The Courage Classic is Children’s Hospital Colorado’s annual bike ride fundraiser, and I will be riding 127 miles with the Cardiac Climbers to support the Heart Institute.
This year, I am dedicating my ride again to Josiah! I had the privilege of caring for Josiah from his newborn days, till almost his first birthday when he got the gift of a heart transplant. Last year, Josiah was able to come up to Copper Mountain after our long 80-mile bike ride, and it was truly one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever done!
Below is a brief summary of Josiah’s Journey from his mom:
" Josiah was born with HLHS, DORV, dextrocardia, AS/AA, and a Li Fraumeni Syndrome. After several failed open heart surgeries after birth, he was listed for a heart transplant. After waiting in the hospital for 311 days, he got his hero heart. Josiah was able to come home for the first time 363 days after he was born, just in time for his 1st birthday. During his hospital stay, Kenzie was one his many wonderful nurses. She brought light and fun into his life and ours and continues to do so even years after his transplant. She is what every care team member should strive to be. Thank you Kenzie and Courage Classic for bringing hope to CHD families!"
I would be truly honored by any donation to support children like Josiah. All proceeds go directly to the Heart Institute at Children's Hospital Colorado. Thank you for helping make a difference. Your support means the world!
