I am supporting Colorado Children's Hospital by riding in the Courage Classic this July.
We're on a little journey of our own with Children's Hospital- Jane is going through gait correction this summer including physical therapy and serial casting. Her care team is AWESOME and has worked so well to help her navigate the challenges that accompany her treatment plan. She was so anxious but her team has been so accommodating and each of them is such a super hero.
Additionally, some of you may know that when Jane was born she was admitted to Special Care when she was only a few hours old. She had a terrifying tachycardia event where she couldn't breathe. I've never felt more helpless in my life watching her struggle for air as the nurses and doctors jumped in and took over. We lived in San Diego, so we were not at CO Children's Hospital (We were at Scripps Mercy), but having experienced first hand just how traumatic and heartbreaking these situations are, I know the life changing impact that pediatric doctors, nurses and technicians have on young families. I'll never forget their kindness, understanding and professionalism. It's so important to support this community!
