It’s that time of year again! I’m riding the Courage Classic to support Children’s Hospital Colorado. I’ll be riding in a team alongside my coworkers from my department, the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Last year we raised $100,000 for the PICU alone. Every mile we ride is for the kids and families who depend on Children's Hospital for lifesaving care.
This year, I’m dedicating my ride to children and teens who suffer from mental health disorders—especially those who feel overwhelmed, alone, or without hope. In the PICU, we care for children and teens at their most vulnerable moments. We treat acute mental health crises, including critically ill children immediately after suicide attempts. These patients leave a profound imprint on my heart and are a big part of why I choose to ride for them this year. Having also lost a close family friend to suicide, this cause is deeply personal to me and strengthens my commitment to supporting these kids beyond the bedside.
Your support helps ensure that these kids receive the care they need from our team—not only to survive, but to heal. Thank you for helping us show them that their lives matter and that they are not alone.
