This year, I’m riding the Courage Classic to support Children’s Hospital Colorado and the children and families who depend on its care.
Last year was my first Courage Classic. I joined my group of friends riding for Children’s Colorado, including one of my close friends who works as a nurse on the pulmonary floor.
This ride is for patients like Forest.
Forest was born with heart defects that required open-heart surgery at just seven days old. He was also diagnosed with CHARGE syndrome, a rare condition that brought additional medical challenges, including moments where he would stop breathing. Forest spent the first six months of his life in the Cardiac ICU at Children’s Colorado.
His family later moved from Montana to Colorado to be closer to the specialized care he needed. In 2024, Forest crossed the Courage Classic finish line behind his dad — a powerful reminder of what this ride supports.
As I ride my second Courage Classic, I’m grateful to support the patients, families, nurses, doctors, and care teams who make Children’s Colorado so special.
Thank you for supporting my ride!
