I am riding in Courage Classic for patients like Kobi.
Mr. Kobi has always been quite the busy body, and sure kept everyone in the NICU on their toes! Being a part of his primary team, I was lucky enough to witness his transition from being to one of the most critical patients on the unit to one of the happiest! His lungs needed all the help they could get, and his journey toward stability with a tracheostomy and g-tube was slow and steady. The kind of close bond I was able to build with him and his family over that time proved to me how life-changing this work really is. The incredible team of nurses, therapists, and providers that make up the foundation of Children's Hospital Colorado make it all possible. They are the reason why Kobi is now thriving at home with his doggo sister!
His bright smile and personality could make even the hardest shifts feel rewarding :)
