This year, I have the incredible honor of riding the Courage Classic in memory of Levi.
Before I ever had the privilege of working in the Cardiac ICU at Children's Hospital Colorado, I had heard Levi's story. After learning even more about the life he lived, I was reminded that courage isn't measured by the hardships we face, it's measured by the joy, love, and strength we choose to share despite them.
"Levi’s life was defined not by the challenges he faced, but by the incredible courage, resilience, and joy he shared with everyone around him. Born with a complex congenital heart defect, he underwent his first open-heart surgery at just six hours old. Throughout his life, he endured multiple heart surgeries, weeks on life support, and the loss of all four limbs due to complications from the treatments that ultimately saved his life. Despite every obstacle, Levi’s bright spirit, determination, and infectious smile inspired everyone who knew his story.This Courage Classic ride honors Levi’s memory and the extraordinary legacy he leaves behind. It also celebrates the compassionate care provided by the dedicated teams at Children’s Hospital Colorado, who stood beside Levi and his family through every challenge. Every dollar raised helps Children’s Hospital continue providing lifesaving care, groundbreaking research, and hope to children and families facing their own difficult journeys.
