I ride for my brother Drake!
My name is Theo and I am 11 years old and I am Drake's oldest brother. I was 5 when Drake was diagnosed with cancer. I was very sad he had to live at the hospital for so long and it has taken a long time at home to heal from his stem cell transplant. My parents took turns being at the hospital so he was never alone but I just wanted everyone home. The pandemic made it even more difficult because I could not go visit him, sometimes we could meet outside if he was feeling ok and his numbers were ok. We made a family playlist to play at home and at the hospital so we could be listening to the same music. Drake is now a music man and loves to dance. I loved when he could come home and then stay home. The follow up appointments are hard on our family but we are grateful. So grateful for the care he received.
Drake amazes me but I wish he never had to go through this, no one should ever have to. I love Drake so much and I am so excited to be celebrating his 5th birthday together and honor his survivorship at the Courage Classic this year. Your support means a lot!
Thank you,
Theo
