I ride to give hope to all Children’s Hospital Colorado patients battling Blood Disorders and Cancer.
Children’s Hospital Colorado has impacted my life in ways both big and small, some moments forgotten over time, and others that have stayed with me forever. Like many people, we move through life alongside classmates, teammates, coworkers, friends, and strangers without ever fully understanding the battles they or their families may be facing.
For many children, the effects of cancer extend far beyond hospital walls. They watch friends succeed in school, win playoff games, experience first loves, and continue growing through childhood while they fight battles for their own lives.
I ride in memory of my sister, Delaney Goodner, who passed away at 16 years old after a long, brutal, and unforgiving fight against cancer. Through everything she endured, she rarely lost hope. While cancer stole childhood milestones and changed the lives of those around her, she left behind loving memories, an unforgettable smile, and a lasting reminder that courage, hope, and strength are real.
I ride not only in hopes that one day children no longer have to suffer through these diseases, but also to honor and carry forward the same courage, strength, and hope these children demonstrate every single day.
If they can face those battles with courage, then so can I.
