This summer, I'm riding in my fourth annual Courage Classic. A two-day ride through Colorado’s stunning Rocky Mountains, all to raise money for Children’s Hospital Colorado.
Each year, I’m honored to ride in support of a young warrior, and this year I have the incredibly special opportunity to dedicate my ride to Lainey for the second year in a row.
Lainey was born with coarctation of the aorta, a bicuspid aortic valve, ASD, VSD, and small-sided left structures. Lainey had her first open heart surgery at 8 days old and her second at 16, both to repair her aortic arch. She has also had 3 cath procedures, one of which put a revolutionary new stent in her arch. This new stent will grow with Lainey and won't need to be surgically replaced, different from traditional stents. Since the addition of the stent, her heart has stabled out. Things that were originally a big concern are now being carefully monitored, but are manageable without immediate intervention! We are so grateful for the heart community and the Heart Institute at Children's Hospital of Colorado for supporting us and caring for our Lainey!
Join the cause to help raise funds for Children's Hospital Colorado, which can support kids like Lainey! ❤
