Banks was born in June of 2022 with a rare and complex congenital heart defect called Double Inlet Left Ventricle. At just 7 days old, she underwent her first open heart surgery, beginning a journey that has already included three major palliative heart surgeries, the most recent taking place in July of 2025.
Despite spending much of her young life facing surgeries, hospital stays, procedures, and countless appointments, Banks continues to shine brighter than anyone could imagine. She is full of joy, personality, and light. Her smile fills every room she enters, and most people would never know the difficult road she has traveled just by looking at her.
Right now, Banks is still fighting through challenges as her body works to adjust to her Fontan circulation. While this stage of her journey has not been easy, she continues to show incredible resilience, strength, and bravery every single day. Through every obstacle, Banks reminds everyone around her what true courage looks like.
Her story is not only one of survival, but of hope. The care she has received has given her the opportunity to keep growing, laughing, playing, and living life to the fullest. Our family is endlessly grateful for the doctors, nurses, surgeons, and hospital staff who continue to walk alongside her on this journey.
Banks may have a special heart, but she also has an extraordinary spirit. She inspires everyone who meets her, and we are honored to share her story as part of this ride to help support other children and families facing life-changing medical journeys.
