This is my first Courage Classic. After several years of hearing about others ride, I finally have the weekend free to join. In doing so, I am supporting the Courage Classic for kids like Hank!
From Hank's Mom..." Our hear warrior, Hank was born in August of 2024. At the time, we had no idea that journey lay ahead of him. After a wonderful 6 days at home, Hank suddenly went downhill and was flighted to PSL and then ultimately transferred to Colorado Children's after his heart issues were discovered and diagnosed. He underwent three open heart surgeries over the following months. At one point during this time, his heart was in a situation consistent with failure and the future was uncertain. But thanks to the efforts of the amazing cardiac team, he was able to leave Children's in January of 2025. Over the next 17 months he regained heart function and continues to grow and thrive at home. During that time, he became the best big brother and spends copious amounts of time enjoying the outdoors. He especially loves playing with all his animals! He returned to Children's at the end of May 2026 for his fourth surgery. The results of which were as good as we could have hoped for! Future surgeries will follow in the coming years, but until then Hank continues to fight and show just how strong he is. We are so grateful for the exceptional care from the cardiac team!"
I am lucky to care for kids like Hank: kids who show courage every single day. And I participate to support the caregivers who make stories like his possible.
Thank you for helping children like Hank get the care, hope, and healing they deserve.
