Well, friends... I'm finally doing the courage classic, a bike race that raises money for Children's Hospital. During my time at CHCO, I have met countless kids who show the most amazing resiliency, strength, and courage, but this year, I'm riding for Levi.
"On April 5, 2021, Levi came into this world with the bravery of a buffalo facing a fierce winter storm. He was born at Children's Hospital Colorado with a long list of congenital heart defects including Heterotaxy Right Atrial Isomerism, AV Canal, AVSD, DORV, TAPVR, Pulmonary Atresia, and obstruction of his pulmonary veins. He had his first open heart surgery at six hours old. Levi fought an uphill battle with chylous effusion, fevers, pain, poor perfusion, and infection. He persevered through ECMO, emergency open heart surgeries, cardiac catheterizations and quadruple amputation. For 119 days he brought light and joy to everyone who cared for him. On August 2, 2021, he was called home to receive his angel wings."
I'm doing this for Levi, for the strength and courage he showed, and to continue his Legacy! The money raised at the courage classic goes to making sure kids like Levi are given the best, most specialized care possible from research to nursing education and staff. These kids deserve the BEST, and your donation can help make sure they get it. Levi's light continues to shine so bright in this world, and I'm thankful to get to do this for him and all the other amazing kiddos who step foot in Children's.
While Levi was only physically here for 4 months, his legacy is continued by his amazing mom and family through Levi's Legacy! Levi's Legacy brings awareness to CHD's and provides amazing support and resources for heart families.
We participate for kids like Levi: kids who show courage every single day. And we participate to support the caregivers who make stories like his possible.
Thank you for helping children like Ari get the care, hope, and healing they deserve.
