The Courage Classic is a challenging two-day bike ride in elevation that supports Children's Hospital Colorado. This is my 7th year riding for team Cardiac Climbers, and it's without a doubt, the best weekend of the year! Riding alongside Bode's medical providers is incredible and powerful.
Our son Bode was born with a congenital heart disease and spent the first two months of his life at Children's Hospital Colorado, where he underwent successful heart surgery. It was here we overheard a couple of nurses talking about the Courage Classic and the team Cardiac Climbers that raises money for the Heart Institute. Sign me up! I knew at that very moment I had to join team Cardiac Climbers, as this is personal.
Bode will not be the last child to face congenital heart disease, and my family will not be the last to navigate a frightening diagnosis. Let's raise as much money as we can for the Heart Institute at Children's Hospital Colorado to ensure that no matter one's economic status, the absolute best care will be provided to those in need.
