Dear Family, Friends, and Supporters,
Here we are again, nearly a year since the 2025 Courage Classic. Returning to this incredible ride was such a blessing. It challenged me both mentally and physically, while also giving me the opportunity to train alongside an amazing team and community of people.
Last year’s ride came with unforgettable moments, but also some unexpected challenges. Not even a mile into the first day, I began experiencing knee pain, whether from genetics, bad luck, or my last-minute bike switch, I’m still not entirely sure ;). I pushed through the pain and made it all the way to Vail Pass, where I was truly humbled. There were plenty of tears on the climb, but I made it to the top and rode into the finish alongside our incredible Wheels of Justice team.
Missing the second day of the tour was difficult for me. If you know me, you know I don’t like quitting halfway through. I tend to push through no matter what, even when it sometimes leads to injury. More than anything, I felt like I was letting others down. Deep down, I know that wasn’t the case, but I came for a reason, to ride for Noel and for every person and family who has endured suffering far greater than I can imagine.
This year, I’m approaching the ride differently. I’m training smarter, preparing more intentionally, and renewing my mindset. My purpose remains the same: to continue this journey in honor of Noel, who passed away from peritoneal cancer, and in support of the many others I know who have faced cancer this past year. It’s difficult to understand and heartbreaking in so many ways, but if we can make even the smallest difference by supporting this foundation, honoring, encouraging, and fighting alongside those battling cancer, then every mile is worth it.
My goal this year is to complete both days of the tour through the beautiful mountains surrounding Copper Mountain and conquer the daunting climb of my old nemesis, Vail Pass. Once again, I’ll be riding with Wheels of Justice to honor survivors this year and support the 7th floor of Children’s Hospital, the incredible doctors and medical team who saved my wife’s cousin’s life after he was diagnosed with leukemia as a child.
Together, we can conquer mountains. Together, we can help transform children’s health. Together, we can be part of raising vital support for research, treatment, and care.
I invite you to join me in this mission — whether by riding, donating, praying, or simply helping spread awareness. Every bit of support matters, and together, we truly can make a difference.
With gratitude,
Sean Mundt
