Hi all,
If you clicked your way here, you almost assuredly know that I've been working at Children's Hospital for a while. Since late 2011, to be exact. The burn out is real, but so is my belief in Children's Colorado's mission of taking care of the children in Colorado and most of the surrounding states, too. Racing Andrew and my father-in-law, Darian, up and over Colorado's mountain passes is something I have come to strongly believe in as well. This summer's ride will be my 10th Courage Classic, I think?!
There are many reasons I do what I do and why I love Children's and the Courage Classic. The patients and families I have gotten to know over the years and my incredible colleagues at Children's remind me of the power of community, kindness, and teamwork. The power of community and vulnerability in both joyful and heartbreaking times is ever present in my world.
I'm riding again this year with the Psyched to Climb team. The money raised by our team will go to the Pediatric Mental Health Institute to support all of the crucial work they do in the mental health field. In my professional and personal life, I see daily that every child, every parent, EVERY PERSON can benefit from mental health support, but resources are limited so riding my bike over some Colorado mountain passes to raise a bit of money for pediatric mental health is possibly the literal least I can do to support the cause :).

Call or text 988 to reach the Colorado Mental Health Line if you or anybody you know is in crisis.
Thanks so much! Becca
