Crystal, one of Children's Hospital Colorado's Heart Warriors!
This July 18-19, I will be riding in the annual Courage Classic Bike Tour benefiting Children's Hospital Colorado.
All this pedaling and climbing will take place up in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado with each day starting at Copper Mountain.
This year I am riding with team Cardiac Climbers. This team rides in honor of the many heart patients at the Children's Hospital Heart Institute. My heart warrior's name is Crystal. Here is Cryatal's story and photo as told by her Mom.
Crystal Rose, who is nearly 5 years old, is thriving two years after her heart transplant. Despite spending over 400 days in the hospital awaiting her life-saving organ, she has overcome two ECMO scares, a stroke, and numerous life-saving procedures. Crystal Rose, along with her mother, serves as a Donate Life Ambassador, raising awareness for congenital heart defects and the importance of organ donation.
