I ride in memory of Kyle Fan, my first child. 24 years ago, Kyle was diagnosed with Pompe disease at Children's Hospital. During his 14 months with us, Kyle received wonderful care from all the folks at Children's, from diagnosis to a clinical trial for a new enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) to his last weeks with us in the Butterfly Hospice Program. (While the ERT didn't work for Kyle because of antibodies, Myozyme® was approved four years after he died and is being successfully used to treat many children around the world.)
I also ride because our family loves spending time in the Colorado mountains. This year I'll be riding with my child Summit on the normal two-day 150-mile route with an additional century on a third day.
I’m dedicated to supporting this cause that is near and dear to our hearts. Please consider donating to Children’s so that other kids can have the same quality of care that Kyle did! Thanks!
