I'm riding in the Courage Classic for all Colorado Children's Hospital patients, with a special shout out to one in particular, Hawkin Schumer.
Our friends' son, Hawkin was born with an undiagnosed condition called transposition of the great arteries (TGA). He was airlifted to Children's Hospital and within hours was stabilized. He had surgery at 7 days old, and spent a month in the hospital under the care of the amazing Children's Hospital staff. Fast forward to the present and Hawkin is now a kind, rambunctious and most importantly, healthy seven year old.
You can help support me in the Courage Classic by making a donation to the Cardiac Team at Children's Hospital Colorado. Jamie and I will be riding for the first time with our friends Brett and Holly Schumer.
The Courage Classic is an opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for kids like Hawkin.
