Dominik riding his bike at base of Copper Mountain at the 2024 Courage Classic
Dominik was born with two congenital heart defects, Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and Ebstein's Anomaly. Dominik underwent two heart transplants as an infant; having his first heart transplant at 2 months old and his second heart transplant at 14 months.
Thanks to the great care at CHCO, Dominik is now a thriving 8 year old who will be starting second grade next year. He is happy and filled with the joy of life. He loves being with his family, traveling and enjoying all kinds of outside adventures such as camping, hiking, biking and swimming. He has an infectious smile and loves to keep those around him laughing with his great sense of humor.
Not only will I be riding for Dominik in the Courage Classic, but I will be riding with Dominik as well. Kimberlee, Dominik and I will be riding 12 miles along the East side of Vail Pass on Saturday July 19. Our total elevation gain will be 892 ft to the turn around point at 10627 ft. I will also be riding on July 20th from Copper Mountain to Loveland Pass and back with a total elevation gain of 5,042 ft with a maximum elevation of 11,991 ft.
