Welcome to my Courage Classic Page! This is my first year participating in the Courage Classic, and I couldn’t be more excited! The Courage Classic is Children's Hospital Colorado's annual bike race fundraiser, and this year, I’ll be riding with the Cardiac Climbers to support the Heart Institute. I’m especially motivated this year as I’ll be riding in honor of Josiah, a brave kiddo I had the privilege of caring for during their time in the hospital. It's an honor to support such an incredible cause, and I’m thrilled to be part of this ride!
Here is a snippet of Josiah's journey from his mother, Marissa: " Josiah was born with several heart defects including Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, DORV, AA/AS, and Dextrocardia. After a cardiac arrest, ECMO, and several failed heart procedures, Josiah was listed for a heart transplant status 1A, the highest priority. He waited inpatient at Children’s Hospital Colorado for 311 days before receiving his hero heart. He finally left the hospital for the first time after 363 days in the hospital, many of those days with Mackenzie as his nurse. We are forever grateful for Mackenzie and the other nurses and care team members, fundraiser volunteers, and most importantly, our donor and their family for all Josiah endured for the first year of his life and the lifetime of care he will need."
I would be truly honored by any donations to support children like Josiah. All proceeds go directly to the Heart Institute at Children's Hospital of Colorado. Thank you for helping make a difference – your support means the world!
